well they split the wards yesterday in a special meeting after church. we thought we had dodged the bullet until the phone rang after lunch about 3. "N. could you come down and meet with the stake presidency around 5:50" (1/2 hr. before the big meeting) ahhh.. GOTCHA! He will roughly be doing the same job as before, just alone now, not sharing it with 2 other people. He is going to be in meetings all week since they have to build this ward from the ground up and sunday is fast approaching. i am not quite so distressed this time about his calling. i guess i am maturing. i guess i am showing more faith. i know that i am being a lot less selfish.

soink got a new cat, she has turned completely into a "new parent" i got a 2 hour phone call on thursday to hear all about the new cat and to be read a laundry list of possible names. then friday, what about cat teeth cleaning and hairball food.. no news on saturday, but sunday i got the call, a name had been decided, photos had been taken and sent. i felt a little bit like i should be throwing her a new kitty mom shower or something where people we required to bring toys with catnip and bags of litter as presents. ahh the days when entire rolls of film were 'wasted' on taking photos of felines. cats in the sun, cats in the sink, cats in the window sill. I HAVE those photos.. i have scrapbooks FULL of pages of those photos. now Big Fat Kitty (BFK) is lucky if he gets a pat on the head and his water dish filled regularly. my times they are a changin'.
