we decided that we needed a new one when we moved into the house and realized that we still had the same one we bought when we got married (9 years ago!) it still runs - which is a record for my family (mom goes through about 3 a year - she just vacuums small animals right up) but we do have a lot of carpet in the B.N.H. (big new house) and there are soo many stairs with the raised ceilings and my puny little arms have been slacking off on the cindy crawford - i just had a baby and look fabulous what is the matter with you, you pork belly. so we decided we should purchase another.

as with all purchases that aren't really necessary we haven't done it yet. i decided yesterday, after it took me a full 35 minutes to vacuum the upstairs that we needed a new one, and i was going to buy it. now we can't decide what we want a need. the whole bagless thing seem a lot more messy to me than an actualy bag. i have no desire to be dumping into my trashcan all these little dust motes and dirt flurries that should have been trapped once already. am i wrong about this? i also want self-propelled, i most often vacuum with a baby on my hip. ( i KNOW!, could i BE any more stereotypical - now i just need to be pregnant, vacuuming AND have a baby on my hip with bread in the oven and the other 14 kids beating the crap out of each other while i serenly hum or something) off the subject, yes.

so i have been searching and comparing all day, well i finally narrow it down to the eureka self-propelled whirlwind bagless upright vacuum. (say that 4 times fast) and i start calling around to all the wal-marts within 45 miles since that is the site i found it on, and i'd like to save shipping, i'd also like to cross statelines and not pay sales tax if i can swing that too. well no one has it, 10 wal-marts later, no one has it! so it looks like i am going to have to pay sales tax and shipping. damn, and i'll have to keep using the other until the new one comes in the mail.
